Smarter Fuel began as a vision by the founder and CEO, David Dunham, who, as a university student was seeking an inexpensive alternative to fuel his personal vehicle. With a Philadelphia to Bethlehem commute during his final semesters, and a job after graduation that required extensive travel,
200,000+ trouble free miles were soon logged!
Realizing the potential David began to focus on commercial truck fleet conversions.
Smarter Fuel Growth:
- 2004: 1,500sf
- 2007: 5,000sf
- 2008: 15,000sf
The requirement for larger quantities of quality fuel led to extensive research and development, and the first 1,500sf refinery in 2004. By 2007 demand required a 5,000sf facility, and shortly thereafter Smarter Fuel moved to our current 15,000sf combined refinery and research and development facility.
Years later we have come to the conclusion the tangible benefits of Smarter Fuel are not only the reduced toxic emissions and cost savings realized, but the domestic production that replaces imported oil, creates American jobs, and works toward a final solution to our energy requirements.
